Yorkshire Dales 47 contributions 53 helpful votes. Nice hotel and well run. The Loch Achray hotel was clean, well maintained & efficiently run, with friendly & helpful staff who genuinely seem to strive to set high standards. The room we had, on the first floor overlooking the front, was a reasonable size, clean, with a decent walk in shower. A gentle stroll through the Balloch Castle Country Park or Queen Elizabeth Forest Park will lead you past charming lochside villages and sandy bays while for the more adventurous, the mountains to the north offer more strenuous walks and climbs. To the west of Loch Lomond sits Helensburgh with its broad avenues, piers and promenades.
